The WPBSA and WST have announced the provisional tour card structure for the 2023/24 World Snooker Tour.
Only 8 from Q School?
I notice that there’s only 8 cards on offer from Q School this time, whereas last time there were 12. In previous years there’s been more with the addition of the players at the top of the Order of Merit.
The reason could be that there are possibly more players on the second year of their tour card (up to 36 as opposed to 31 last time).
But does this mean that there will be only 2 Q School events this time, with 4 cards on offer from each? Or maybe still have 3 events but just 2 cards from each and 2 from the Order of Merit?
Let’s hope we get to know soon as many amateurs will be looking to book their time off work as soon as they can!
