After the conclusion of Round 1 and the first 16 results of Round 2 have been posted, there are 2 amateurs through to Round 3 and 6 more still to play.
There were 2 very good results yesterday with Martin O’Donnell beating Jimmy White 10-4 and Iulian Boiko overcoming Stuart Carrington 10-5.
Daniel Wells, Stan Moody, Haydon Pinhey and Florian Nuessle all lost out in their Round 2 matches.
Today, Michael Georgiou, Andrew Higginson and Ross Muir play their Round 2 matches to a finish.
Ian Martin and Michael Holt start their matches this afternoon and finish tomorrow afternoon.
All 5 of the women are now out of the event and whilst 3 of them, Bex Kenna, Mink and Baipat, will be on the main tour next season, Reanne Evans and Ng On Yee aren’t yet guaranteed to be.
The British Women’s Open in May will decide which one of the two will earn a place via the women’s rankings. The other will have to either qualify via Q School or wait to see if another avenue opens up for them.
Jimmy White is still in the running for another 2 years on the main tour via the one year list but Stuart Carrington joins the ‘relegated pros’ who will be looking to enter Q School this year.

Watch out on our calendar for events to help amateurs with the costs of attending Q School.
