Snookerhub’s 2022 Open and first sponsored pro-am brought the best out of one of the south’s top amateurs, Zack Richardson who didn’t look like conceding a frame early on. With excellent cueing and heavy scoring you can often see a finalist from the start.
Dharminder Lilly, obviously a proven seniors champion and a very strong, attacking player proved too much for former tour pro Gary Filtness in the semis.
Club coach, John Gillard looked strong from the off, but had to put up with a tough fightback from Steve Crowley.
Top Sussex amateur Dave Morgan had Gary Filtness at 3-2 down. But the experienced 60 year old ex-pro held his nerve (and got on mine!) to get over the line with a couple of tough snookers.
Great efforts also from improving club players like Dave Lovegrove in his match with Dhar. Dave is perhaps the clubs most improved player for 2022.
A great day in an excellent venue.
