This years George Scott Pro Am, which takes place on Tuesday 29th March, will feature no less than eleven current professional players, including the defending champion Mitchell Mann, who faces Ian Brumby in what promises to be a fantastic first round battle.
Oliver Lines, who has twice won this event, has been drawn against current MPL Champion Wayne Brown, whilst local professional Allan Taylor will battle it out with Lee Stephens, who recently reached the final of the World Amateur Championship and as a result has been invited into next months World Championship qualifiers.
Gary Wilson, who was a World Championship semi finalist back in 2019, faces Jimmy Jenkins whilst fellow Geordie professional Elliot Slessor will face three time Merseyside Open champion Neal Jones.
Another local professional Sean Maddocks, who is the youngest player to ever win the Merseyside Open, will play Adam Brown whilst Andrew Higginson, who reached the final of the Welsh Open back in 2007, will now play Bob McCune.
Hammad Miah will now play Southport’s Andy Rae in the first round while David Grace will play Jack Bradford who has enjoyed a very good EPSB Open series this year.
Current UK Seniors Champion, Peter Lines will face Alex Millington, whilst Farakh Ajaib will play the reigning North West Open Champion John Welsh, who is also looking forward to playing in the final of the English Amateur Championships in the coming months.
There are also some fabulous match-ups involving some of the country’s best amateurs including young Ryan Davies, who just last week won the EPSB Open Series, he comes face to face with the current and five times Merseyside Open Champion John Whitty, while former North West Open Champion, Simon Blackwell will have an early morning duel with Jamie Jones.
Paul Deaville, who reached the last 16 in this seasons English Open, has a very tough first round match against three time Merseyside Champion, Gareth Hibbott.
There is £1000 up for grabs for the winner of this fabulous event which takes place at George Scotts Snooker Club in Liverpool on Tuesday 29th March starting at 10am.
