News from around the snooker scene (NOT just WST!)
What you will find here is news from around the snooker scene focussed mainly on amateur snooker rather than the World Snooker Tour. (There might be a snippet or two from WST occasionally though)
Rory McLeod was the first Amateur League 900 weekly title winner on the Pluto Snooker TV channel
I’ve not got a lot of detail on this to be honest as I don’t really follow it. Maybe I will if it proves very popular but time will tell.
More info will hopefully be available from the social media pages of Snooker Legends or the Jason Francis Sport website at https://www.jasonfrancissport.com/
Bulgaria to host the 2026 WSF Championships
The WPBSA recently announced that the 2026 World Snooker Federation Championships will be held in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The main reason for anyone entering these events is of course the offer of a place on the WST, but there will be decent prize money as well. Although the main contingent will be from the UK, it does feel important that these events are staged in mainland Europe rather than the UK.
More details, including how to enter, will be announced soon.
Next on the WPBSA Q Tour is Event 4 at the Northern Snooker Centre in Leeds
This was always going to be of the most popular of the Q Tour events and Landywood for Event 7 may well match it.
For Leeds though, there’s 139 entries and the event is scheduled to start on 29 October.
You can follow the scores etc on the snookerscores.net site at https://snookerscores.net/tournament-manager/202526-q-tour-event-four
