Q Tour 2023/24 consisted of a series of tournaments classed by many as the second-tier tour to the World Snooker Tour.

The main series was the UK/Europe Q Tour which was 7 ranking events with the top-ranked player earning a place on the main tour for the next two seasons.

The final ranking list courtesy of snooker.org is below

Michael Holt regained his place on the main tour by topping the ranking list having played only 5 of the 7 events.

Q Tour Global and Q Tour Global Playoffs

In addition to Q Tour UK/Europe there were three series billed as Q Tour Global.

They were the Asia-Pacific Series, the Americas Series and the Middle East Series.

There was no automatic qualification for the main tour from these series but the winners qualified for the playoffs.

Players ranked 2-19 in the UK/Europe series qualified automatically for the Q Tour Global Playoffs.

Two players from each of the Global Q Tour Series qualified for the playoffs.

The two qualifiers from the Asia-Pacific series withdrew and were replaced by the next two players from the Q Tour UK/Europe rankings.

These 24 players were divided into 3 groups of 8 to play 3 seperate events with a main tour card on offer for each winner.

The winners were Duane Jones, Amir Sarkhosh and Mohammed Shehab.

See snooker.org or snookerscores for the full results from the 3 events.

Opinion:

This type of event is a much better way of selecting players for the main tour than offering places to the best of very small, usually lower standard, groups.
It’s all very well saying young players, women, geographical regions, etc, need to be given a chance, but they should prove their worth on something like the Q Tour before playing on the main tour.
The main tour is not the place to learn.
Many very good players are having their chances limited by the inclusion of these exclusive categories.
