There are many and various solutions of course but one of the main ways, in my opinion, is to get kids playing. Never mind saying they are only interested in their phones, XBox, Playstation etc, let’s get them into the junior clubs and let them try it out for themselves.
One of the clubs doing just that is Fareham Snooker Club.
Albie is back to give snooker a go again! Taller now also and doing well.
Also we had a special appearance from Lewis 4yr old (almost 5) ! Who had great fun joining in for a bit.
Setting up, running and keeping going a junior snooker club takes a lot of hard work on the part of the club. The coach at Fareham, Craig Donegan, says
“…they are difficult to get going but are very rewarding when you get the numbers up and as the kids improve.“
Craig is a WPBSA coach and is qualified as a Level 2 – 1st4Sport coach and is licenced to coach both children and adults.
If you would like to know more about the junior club, or would like coaching for yourself, get in touch with Craig or Fareham Snooker Club on 01329 221759 or via Facebook
