A busy EASB weekend, the LiteTask finals part 1 and the SWSA handicap are among the highlights this weekend
On Sunday the top 16 amateurs from the LiteTask pro-am series will return to the Northern Snooker Centre in Leeds to compete for a ticket to the World Snooker Q School.
The two finalists will both earn a place with the winner pocketing £250 as well.
Sponsors LiteTask have announced that the very popular pro-am series will be repeated next year.

It’s the final weekend of the Regional Junior Tour and double ranking points are on offer. This could well be the deciding factor for who goes on to play in the Premier Junior Tour next season. The Premier is a stepping stone onto the world stage where the juniors heading for the professional ranks will be making their names.
It’s also the final weekend of the Masters. One of the events showcasing the experience of some of England’s better amateurs. Again, double ranking points are available and a chance to represent England in various international competitions.
Rankings can be seen on the EASB site here[/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner]The South West Snooker Academy are holding an amateur open on Sunday 2 April. It’s limited to 24 players but at the time of writing there were still a couple of places available. But be quick!
Dunstable Snooker Club have their regular weekly event, as do Legends, Chandlers Ford and Whitley Bay.

Pot Black Clacton have another of their popular pro-am events on SundayMany of the players this weekend will be keen to prove that amateur snooker is not dead or dying. As I’ve said before, it’s changing – not dying. With a few more positive words from the keyboard warriors we could see the game progress a little quicker even.
