This is a welcome boost to the pro-am scene in England and should give many more opportunities for players to play in top-class events.

The only concern is that an event organised by the English National Governing Body (NGB) should be open to players from all nationalities.

Time will tell as to how these events are received by the wider amateur snooker community.
