A very impressive 6-1 win over 40th seed Mark King, takes White to within 1 match of a return to the Crucible. Securing that place would also earn him a World Snooker Tour place for the next two seasons.
Jordan Brown will be the one standing in his way after Brown won a tense match against youngster Liam Davies. Davies, the youngest player ever to win a World Championship match, took 24th seed Brown to a decider after winning frames 9 and 10. Brown held his nerve and ran out the winner.
Si Jiahui, although playing here as an amateur, will start next season back on the main tour but will not feature at the Crucible after a very tense match against 66th seed Jamie Clark.
Clark sparked a bit of a debate on Twitter with his obvious delight at sinking the final pink to win the match.
