Following the recent WST announcement regarding some of next season’s events to be tiered draws (see this), it’s interesting to follow this event as it already a tiered draw.

WST changed the qualifiers to a tiered draw for the 2019/20 event and have used the format since.

They have since added the UK Championship to that format and now have added the Home Nations events and the German Masters for next season.

Hopefully, this will allow lower ranked players to make better progress by playing against their peers and winning ranking points – rather than being sent home with nothing!

New players, like Bai Yulu, stand a much better chance as has been shown with her creditable performance against Jenson Kendrick, only losing 10-7.
