Over the weekend there were no less than four pro-am events spread across the country.
Saturday and the event at Pot Black Clacton was won by non other than Aidan Owens himself! Aidan beat Ryan Causton in the final and there was lots of praise for Aidan not just for winning but for putting the event on at his new club.
On to Saturday evening and up to Whitley Bay where Paul Rinaldi’s regular event was won by Adam Parker.
Sunday’s event at Hendry’s in Preston was a very busy day where organiser James Cahill ran out the winner beating former pro Rob Marshall in the final.
The Potterz Open on Sunday at Woking Snooker Centre was another event earning high praise from all involved and the winner was Sean Harvey who beat Andy Chauhan in the final. Sean also claimed the high break prize with a 126 (which organiser Terry Teeman was keen to point out was higher than Ronnie O’Sullivan could manage in the final of The Masters!)
In other events, Josh Thomond won the EASB Premier Junior Tour Event 4 at Aidan Owens’ other club, Pot Black Lowestoft. Josh beat Jordan Winbourne to take top prize after a weekend of quality snooker littered with centuries from the under 21s.

I don’t have results from the wekend’s other events but if I hear anything I will add them as I do.
Next weekend is dominated by the EASB English Amateur Championship which kicks off with no less than 10 regional events.
Don’t let anyone fool you into thinking amateur snooker is dead. Changing yes. Dead NO!
