World Women’s Snooker (WWS) and the Australian Billiards and Snooker Council (ABSC) have announced the cancellation of this year’s Australian Women’s Open

The event was due to be held in October at the Mounties venue in Sydney. However, due to the ongoing uncertainty with the Delta variant of Covid-19, and Sydney being in another lockdown until the end of August at least, it was decided to cancel the tournament.

On their website, the WWS said:

“Both WWS and the ABSC will continue to work together with the clear intention of staging a ranking event in 2022.”
