The South West Snooker Academy in Gloucester is the setting for the final event and the battle for the second main tour card
Brandon Sargeant has already secured his place on the World Snooker Tour for the next two seasons, but the second card is still up for grabs. There are, in fact, only three players actually in contention: David Grace, Mitchell Mann and David Lilley. Barry Pinches in fifth place can’t quite make it.
Sargeant has been hovering around the top spot since his win in the first event and a steady set of results has made it always look likely he would claim one of the two available main tour cards on offer.
David Grace is the only player to have won two events, Event 2 in Preston and Event 6 in Lommel, Belgium. As long as his result this time is better than Mann or Lilley, he will reclaim his spot on the main tour.
Although David Lilley does have an outside chance, it is most likely that one of these two will take that second spot. It could be that they meet in the last 16 for a “winner takes all” clash.
