The Grand Final of the 2018 Merseyside Champion of Champions will be between Brian Robertson and Clayton Humphries.

Brian (Prescot) was in a determined mood yesterday as he won both his matches 3-2 against Steve O’Hare (Garston) and John Roberts (Cons) and is looking forward to the final in a few weeks time against reigning champion Clayton Humphries who was sublime in beating Mark Evans (Ormskirk) and Danny Thomas (St Helens) including five breaks over fifty.

Both players are delighted to have reached the final of one of Merseyside’s most prestigious competitions which began in 1966 with notable winners including Andrew Higginson, Rod Lawler, Ian Brumby, John Welsh, Gareth Hibbott, Les Dodd, John Whitty, Neal Jones and George Scott who won this coveted title an incredible seven times. Other past winners include Roy Andrewartha, Dave Bonney, Mick Bethell, Tony Rampello, Danny Murphy and more recently Ant Jeffers and Paul Williams….a full list of winners will soon be on display at George Scotts when the MDBSA unveil a number of Roll of Honour boards which will also include the Merseyside Open and Mersey Masters which will be celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2019.
