There were quite a few amateur and pro-am snooker events that took place over the weekend.
It’s nice to see the winners getting the recognition they deserve and here are a few of the reports from Facebook in the Amateur Snooker group.
Northern Ireland Amateur Snooker Champion

At seventeen years eleven days old Robbie McGuigan became the youngest ever Northern Ireland Amateur Snooker Champion. McGuigan narrowly lost out to Declan Lavery in last year’s final, but this year there was no stopping him.

AWESOME ALLEN WINS IN JULY
It was a hard fought day with hard match play all around with Harley Allen capitalising and winning the second event back from Covid-19.

North East Snooker Centre Weekly Pro-Am

Sheldon O’Connor took the trip up from Bolton and came away with a very popular win. He said on Facebook
“Won another Pro Am! ??
2-0 down in the final against Elliot Slessor.
Managed to bring it back to 2-2.”

Marcos Dayo was the winner of the latest round of the SnookerLife Regional Cup sponsored by SightRight, held at Tamworth Sports Bar.
A delighted Marcos said “I’m very pleased to win my 1st Regional Cup competition after 4/5 months of lockdown away from Snooker…”

Woking Snooker Centre

Woking Snooker Centre held their first competition in quite a while under the guidance of manager Peter Ruddick.
Well done George Heatley who beat Paul Jackson 2-1 in the final.
The event also has a £50 prize for the high break over a 4 week period, sponsored by SnookerZone
Pro-Am Snooker UK – Stratford Sports Club Back-to-Back Weekend
Two separate events over the weekend and both high quality affairs.
Daniel Wells won Saturday’s event beating home player Stuart Watson in the final.
On Sunday the final was split between Jackson Page and 15-year-old Liam Davies.
The Welsh guys do seem to like this venue!
