Tuesday 5 December saw the start of the snooker season of Carlisle and District Billiards and Snooker League.
Qzone now has a fourth team playing from the club as the Denton Holme team become DH Qzone and play alongside Inter Qzone and Qzone in Division 1. The Qzone Originals are playing in Division 2.
The Inter Qzone team will be looking to do the billiards and snooker double after taking the Division 1 title recently and still have the final of the Floorshop Champions League to play on Wednesday 13 December.

Mike Griffiths of Inter Qzone won his first ever billiards singles trophy with an impressive display against Mally Lancaster in the final of the Glasson Trophy on Monday 4 December. This match was rearranged after the Alan Armstrong final was postponed until the 11th due to Mike’s opponent Paul Cowing suffering an injury.
Spectators are welcome again for the Armstrong final which is the premier billiards trophy of the league.
But back to Tuesday for the snooker!
Qzone, who have won the league for the last good few years were entertaining DH Qzone and it was DH who struck first with Scott Davidson beating Chis Forrester to get their season underway. Qzone, however, weren’t having any of it and won the next 4 frames.
The Rock A were visiting Inter Qzone and went home empty handed as Inter announced their intentions with a 6-0 win. The evening finished off with an extremely impressive performance from Mike (Nico) Nixon who left Dave Currie pointless with 2 breaks of 53 and an almost-a-clearance of 71 from Nico.
Qzone Originals went over to St Margaret Mary’s and came back with all 7 points following a whitewash to start the season with a bang!
So Monday is the Armstrong final, Tuesday is snooker league night and Wednesday is the final of the Floorshop Champions League.
Busy times at the home of snooker and billiards in Cumbria!
