The aim of the league is to provide competitive snooker during the summer period.

It is not intended to detract from the Carlisle and District Billiards and Snooker League.

Rather, it is hoped that new players may be attracted to competitive snooker and help to raise the standard of snooker in the area.

Players in the individual league will NOT be restricted to those playing in the Carlisle League.

Format:

There will be 16 players playing in 4 divisions of 4 playing matches over a 3 week period.

If more than 16 want to enter, then more divisions will be added in groups of 4.

Fixtures will be given out and matches will need to be played before the end of the 3 week period.

Each match will be 3 frames and all frames to be played.

Toss of a coin for the choice of who breaks in Frames 1 and 3.

Players will earn 1 point per frame won.

If there is a tie on points at the end of the period, the head to head result(s) will be used.
If there’s still a tie, a blue ball shootout will be held. 3 attempts each followed by sudden death.

After 3 weeks, there will be a FREE 6-Red Shootout competition for all those who have completed their fixtures in the league. This is likely to be on a Wednesday evening on Table 1 in Qzone.

Divisions, initially, will be seeded by the organisers. The top player from each division will then be promoted and the bottom player relegated.

Entry Fee

Entry fee will be £15 per 3 week period which includes the table charges for Qzone.

The winner of each division will receive a cash prize TBA depending on sponsorship but this is more about playing competitive snooker, rather than winning prize money.

The prize for the Shootout winner is also TBA depending on sponsorship.

The miss rule will be played as per the Carlisle League rules.
“MISS RULE: For all league matches, a miss will NOT be called if the player committing a foul is snookered, as long as the offending player has hit the ball with enough pace to hit a ball that is ‘on’. A player will be judged to be snookered if he cannot see ANY part of ANY ball that is on.”
