Seeding and Draws

The Top 32 are seeded from the Official End of Season Ranking List for the Uk and World Seniors Qualifying Events only.

The Masters event, as non-ranking, will have a totally random draw made in advance of the event.

The top 16 on the official Super Seniors Ranking List will be placed into a seeded position.

The Promoter may increase this field at their discretion.

All players who enter will need to agree to the WPBSA code of conduct and terms and conditions of the event which will be available within the entry system. They will also need to understand our COVID procedures.

Players will be able to wear one logo of their choice, embargo on mobile phones, vitamins and cars.

COVID-19

All players who enter the main event will be given a FREE Antigen COVID-19 test on either Sunday 3rd or Monday 4th January.
All players who have already entered the Super Seniors Event will be given a FREE Antigen COVID-19 test on either Sunday 3rd or Monday 4th January.

Any over 55 players who chose to now enter that event only will need to pay the entry fee [£50? Subject to confirmation. My addition] and a supplement of £40 towards the cost of their covid test. The result should be returned within 30 minutes.

Should a player test positive, and live within the mainland, they can check out of the hotel safely and return to their home to self-isolate. They will be refunded their event entry fee. Should any player test positive they understand they will be removed from the event and will be responsible for any costs associated with their enforced isolation.

Players should consider travelling alone to the event in order not to risk being associated with anyone who returns a positive test, or indeed risk infecting other players. If you have travelled with someone who tests positive you will also be removed from the event and expected to self-isolate.

International travellers would need to self-isolate at their own cost should they return a positive test.

Players should try and avoid using public transport.

Should any player receive a positive test within 9 days of the event starting (Xmas Day) they should inform the tournament director with their documentation and withdraw from the event, they will receive a full refund. Full refunds will not be given without proof of a an approved positive COVID 19 Test.

Players who tested positive between 4th December 2020 and 25th December 2020, and who have served their period of self-isolation will be allowed to compete in the event without the need to undergo a further COVID Test. Approved Documentation will need to be provided.

All players understand that our COVID Policy is constantly changing and citizens from certain countries may be refused entry should their territory be on the restricted list at their time of travel for the event. In all case where entry fees are refunded and players removed from the event their opponents would receive a bye.

The current list of countries whose citizens will be refused entry to England can be found here:

The club hosting is currently in Tier 2 COVID restrictions and all players and officials will need to adhere to their rules. This includes, but is not limited to, temperature check on arrival, track and trace, witnessing of hand sanitisation on arrival and full-face masks when not in play, eating or drinking.

The tournament will be the first open-entry event staged by the WPBSA Group since the start of the coronavirus pandemic and will be run strictly in accordance with guidelines from the DCMS and EPSB. Full COVID-19 testing protocols will be in place and the club will be used as a closed venue secure bubble, with no public or admittance to anyone else during play.

We hope that this use of an existing facility to stage an event as safely and securely as possible will assist in the way that the WPBSA Group may be able to operate going forwards.
