World Snooker have announced the 190 entrants for Q School 2018
The number of entrants will of course increase as the pros who drop out of the top 64 will be able to enter after the World Championships.
I’m surprised to be honest, that the number is as low as this. After all, the introduction of the Challenge Tour for the top 64 in the Order of Merit, not including the 12 qualifiers, should have attracted a few more. Last year there were 206 entries including 13 pros who dropped off the tour. It would be interesting to know why more haven’t entered.
There are some familiar names on the list already, with Jamie Cope and James Cahill amongst those looking to get back on the tour. Barry Pinches hopes he can get back on and bring his son Luke with him.
