It’s the final weekend of the last event of Q School 2021

The last 16 matches of Round 3 will be played before Round 4 is played this afternoon and this evening.

Looking back over the last couple of days, relegated pros Daniel Wells, Eden Sharav, James Cahill and Riley Parsons will all be back in the amateur ranks next season. They will of course have the opportunity to play in the Q Tour – which we are still awaiting details of. Another 2 at least will be joining them after Round 3 is completed as Rod Lawler plays Mitchell Mann and Bai Langning plays Luo Honghao.

More will fall in Round 4 of course but all eyes will then be on the veteran Tony Knowles who faces the current English Under 21 Champion Mark Lloyd.

Rebecca Kenna was beaten by Ross Bulman in Round 2 on Thursday, but there is every chance that she could skip Q School next year if she heads the Women’s rankings without Reanne Evans and Ng On Yee. As those two have been awarded 2 year cards, at least the next highest ranked player at the end of next season will be awarded a main tour place.

The 2 places on the main tour to be awarded to the top 2 on the Order of Merit are still very much up for grabs.

It’s going to be an interesting weekend!
