Judgement Day Eve. Who else has been cast into the cauldron of amateur snooker for next year?
Of those who were on the main tour last season, affectionately called “relegated pros”, who hasn’t made it to Judgement Day?
Round 3 – Mitchell Man beat Rod Lawler 4-2 and Bai Langning beat Lou Honghao 4-0
Round 4 – Billy Joe Castle beat David Lilley 4-2, Ian Burns beat Soheil Vahedi 4-3 (Burns was 3-1 down and produced breaks of 56, 63 and 106 to go through), Mitchell Mann beat Bai Langning (Mann was also 3-1 down).
Many other big names have fallen by the wayside
Rounds 3 and 4 were littered with big names, many of which would not have been a surprise if they had made it onto the main tour. As a result, next season’s Q Tour will certainly be interesting to follow.
Pensioner Tony Knowles finally succumbed to the pressure and was beaten 4-2 by current English Under 21 Champion, Mark Lloyd.
As we go into the final day there are 16 players looking to win 2 more matches and claim one of the 4 places on the World Snooker Tour for the next 2 seasons.
The others will be looking to the Order of Merit to see if they can claim one of the top 2 spots and also be rewarded with a place on the WST.
