As the big guns start to be deployed, the centuries are getting fired in!
Former professionals Michael White, Peter Lines and Ross Muir all made centuries in their opening matches of Q School 2021 – Event 1.
White had breaks of 127, 103 and 81 in his 4-1 win over Ronnie Blake, Lines had two centuries, 109 and 102 in beating Connor Benzey 4-1 and Muir now holds the high break with a 132 in the first frame of his 4-0 defeat of John Pritchett.
The only female player in the event, Rebecca Kenna, was beaten 4-1 by Germany’s Umet Dickme. Kenna was soon back on the practice table in her shop at Cue Sports Yorkshire to prepare for her next match on Wednesday evening.
Saturday’s big match, for me, is the “Battle of the Boltonians” when Craig Steadman takes on Tony Knowles!
