This is effectively the start of the second half of the tour and as such it is surprising that there are so few entries. Is it too near Christmas for some amateur snooker players to travel to Belgium?

The Provisional Challenge Tour Rankings, courtesy of snooker.org, would suggest that there is still all to play for and, as with all the European events, is open entry. So why only 42 entries? Will Tamworth in January for CT8 attract more?

There was an announcement recently by World Snooker that they had changed their minds about Challenge Tour 5. This will now continue from where ‘rain stopped play’ for completed matches instead of the event starting again.

The winner of the tour will receive a 2 year main tour card and the next eight players will play off for a second card.
