WDBS – Paul Hunter Disability Classic
May 18 - May 20
World Disability Billiards and Snooker (WDBS) will return to Derby in 2018 for the second staging of the Paul Hunter Disability Classic.
To be held at the 14-table Cueball Derby following a successful event at the venue earlier this year, the 2018 edition will run from 18-20 May 2018 and include tournaments for deaf and visually impaired players, as well as a one-day competition for players with learning disabilities. This year’s events in Derby saw debut victories for Ben Rodgers (Group 6), Mike Gillespie (Group 7) and Shabir Ahmed (Group 8).
We are also delighted to announce that once again the event will be sponsored by the Paul Hunter Foundation (PHF), the organisation established in 2006 in memory of three-time Masters champion Paul Hunter with the specific aim of giving disadvantaged, able bodied and disabled youngsters an opportunity to play snooker.
A spokesman for the PHF said: “Following the continued growth and success of the WDBS and in line with its objectives agreed by the Charity Commission, the PHF is happy to support this event for a second year. We wish all of the players every success and express our thanks to everyone involved in organising the event.”
The event will also be supported by regular sponsor J&S Trading.
