This is a straight knockout with a Plate competition for players losing their first match. All matches are either best-of-three or best-of-five frames.
Ranking points are earned each week for matches won and a clever spreadsheet adjusts the handicaps accordingly.
£2,235 prize money will be paid out to the top-12 ranked players after 26 weeks. The winner pockets £500.
An added attraction is that there is free practice, subject to table availability, until the finals end at around 6-7pm.
The competition has been running for 11 years. The average attendance is between 19 and 20.
Entry fee is £10 for club members and £13 for non-members.
No pre-registration. No dress code. No requirement to play every week. Just turn by before 1pm on the day.
The standard ranges from 20 break to multi-century makers. It’s open to boys and girls and men and women of any age.
